Center for Architecture and Design
A creative hub for the design community
The Center for Architecture and Design brings together architects, designers, developers, building industry partners, thought leaders, local representatives, and the public under one roof. They recently renovated their historic building to update their interior and incorporate a new exhibit space. With this, came a rebrand. Inclusivity throughout all design disciplines was an essential element of their new identity.
The use of iconography was crucial to the development of the identity, by replacing the words “for” and “and.” Utilizing iconography and scale throughout the brand allowed for a range of executions and tones.
The new brand identity took inspiration from symbols used throughout multiple creative disciplines to enhance the Center’s mission of moving the field of architecture forward through inclusivity and multidisciplinary programming.
Color and scale played a pivotal role in adding visual texture throughout the Center and moving users throughout the space.
To celebrate reopening the space and introducing the new brand, the Center's inaugural exhibit showcased key architectural moments in Philadelphia history.
